Hello!
There are many reasons why I made this site. Some are sketched out here, some are not. Some I've yet to really discover and fathom. In essence, I did it to have my own place to write and create on my own terms.
I've always been interested in and found much joy technology. What started out with learning how to install texture packs in Minecraft back in 2014 has over time evolved to me hacking my own hardware and having a total of one console/gadget that I haven't messed with the software/firmware on (my nintendo switch). However, seeing how, well, everything has evolved over time, be it "the internet" becoming an enshittified tech-fascist-controlled gray blob of hate, resentment, and surveillance or hardware becoming whatever the hell this is has been, disheartening, to say the least.
I've grown dissatisfied with social media, and also with how most websites have essentially become uniform contact cards (sometimes literally only being a link to other link) and made this as my slight personal protest and hobbyist creative project. I don't believe in the dystopian image that seemingly every other platform seems to create, and I flat out reject any sense of nihilism. Here I can post whatever I want, however I want. And I like that.
So. About me.
My name is Runar, and I'm a musicology student among many other things. I like to fuck around with tech, and I'm very interested in the social aspect of humans - as in, how, why, and in what way we interact with eachother, and what that leads to. At the time of writing this I'm taking part of an exchange programme in Brazil where I'm working as a musician. If I've had the time to make any posts about it, you can find them here
Some of the stuff I do here include shitposting, photography, music, and just fucking around, really. Everything is based on bearblog which gives the site a very natural blog-post-esque structure. Every now and then I share some projects, thoughts, or ideas about tech too. Also, check out my garden!
I'm not really all that good on the talking about myself-thing - I'm a big fan of the "show, don't tell" kinda stuff (which is a pain in the ass whenever I apply for a job interview), so if you still want to know more my best recommendation is honestly just to hop around the site. Oh, and if you ever want to reach me my email is runarcn [at] pm (dot) me.
