[reading journal] Percy Jackson I
5 days after installing an ereader on my 3ds I finished reading my first book on it. It's not a new book, but instead a revisiting of a series that I really loved as a child. I wanted to find joy in reading again and truly get lost in the words, so I kind of understood that I had to find something that I knew really would catch me.
These past five days, I've spent 1,5-2,5 hours reading each day, just as a passtime. There is one exception of a day where I only found 20mins of free time, but it's still a very significant change. These past few days I've felt a strong intrinsic urge to go grab my 3ds and read instead of grabbing my PC or phone and doing something else. I've also not felt as strong of an urge to play AC:NL or BotW. In fact, today, before sitting down to read I made the conscious decision of reading instead of playing BotW - and I kind of miss playing that game, I should do so this weekend.
I'm probably gonna continue with book two either now before I go to bed or tomorrow. I got it as a gift from my friend Anna, so it would be rude not to.
Anyways. This all goes to say that I'm happy to be back in finding joy in reading. I'm gonna read some more fiction and fantasy going forwards. I've got the entire PJ&O-series loaded in + Hunger Games I. Will probably grab HG II & III as well after a while. Kind of want to read Divergent as well, only ever watched the movie.
Right now I'm just really happy to be reading.
