[brazil week 10, 11] Visiting São Paulo and changing work
These two weeks have been nice. I've changed part of my work at conservatory from moving chairs, risers, and instruments around at 7 in the morning to playing in a theatre band - a significant upgrade, visited SP for the first time, had visitors from Norway, and gotten to see my girlfriend again for the first time in three months.
My new job is such an upgrade in so many ways. Not only am I working with playing and not just rigging, but it's also in the evening instead of morning, and only 3 minutes away from my house. We're playing brazilian repetoire as well as setting up a piece by Chico Buarque, probably my favorite musician from here. It's great to work with the stuff that actually got me here in the first place.
SP was also amazing, even more so given that it was my first time being with my girlfriend in 3 months. It's so urban there, almost feels like a sort of Gotham City, and WOW is it huge. There's more that 2 times the population of Norway there! Extra bonus that I was there with some friends visiting from Norway who later came to my place in Tatuí for a night as well :)
